The non-profit organization Japan Heart recognizes the importance of personal information, complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws, regulations and guidelines relating to the protection of personal information, and handles such information with the utmost care.

1. purpose of use of personal information

● To respond to enquiries and applications.
● To send information such as receipts and activity reports.
● To provide information on volunteer activities, events, etc.
● To carry out procedures to ensure the safe and smooth execution of volunteer activities and training (e.g. contact with local staff regarding volunteer activities and training, travel procedures and confirmation of activity status).
● To provide reference when determining the content of volunteer activities, training, etc. (surgery and surgical assistance, medical treatment and medical assistance, and other tasks incidental to medical activities and clerical work, etc.).
● To prepare statistical and analytical data of the organization in a form in which individuals cannot be identified.
● To use for contact in case the need for contact arises to achieve the other purposes mentioned above.

2. Disclosure of personal data to third parties

● Where the person concerned has given prior consent to disclosure. ● Where disclosure is required by law.
● Where disclosure is necessary for the protection of the life, body or property of an individual and where it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
● For the purposes of item 1, we disclose information that is necessary in the course of our duties to third parties who have signed a confidentiality agreement with us and who manage personal information with the same level of strictness as we do.
● To check the progress of the participant’s travel procedures, the following information will be disclosed to the partner travel agency for the participant to participate in volunteer activities, training and other activities conducted by our organisation.
● ・ Name ・ Date of birth ・ Gender ・ Participation dates and destinations for volunteer activities, training, etc.

3. Disclosure and correction of personal information

● If a person wishes to disclose, correct, add to, stop using or delete his or her personal data, this will be dealt with promptly in accordance with the law.
